Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy is an important phase in a woman's life marked by physical and psychological changes. Although joyful, this period often causes anxiety, especially in third-trimester primigravida facing preparation for childbirth. Hormonal changes, fatigue, physical symptoms, and concerns for the safety of the baby can exacerbate anxiety that impacts the health of the mother and fetus. One non-pharmacological intervention to reduce anxiety is prenatal yoga because it can provide relaxation, improve breathing control, and reduce tension. Objective: To determine the relationship between the regularity of prenatal yoga and anxiety levels in pregnant women. Method: This study is a quantitative analytical study with a cross-sectional research design. The population consisted of all pregnant women who participated in prenatal yoga activities at PMB Bdn. Denik Styaningrum, S.Keb. CHt., CPHCT., Pare, Kediri Regency. The population consisted of 66 pregnant women participating in prenatal yoga, with a sample of 40 respondents through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire and data analysis used the Spearman Rank test. Results: It shows that respondents who regularly do prenatal yoga mostly experience mild anxiety (47.5%) or no anxiety (15.0%). Meanwhile, respondents who did not practice regularly experienced more moderate (30.0%) and severe (7.5%) anxiety. The Spearman Rank test showed a p = 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship. Conclusions and Recommendations: Regular prenatal yoga is associated with reduced maternal anxiety, although other factors such as family support, motivation, and time availability also play a role. It is hoped that pregnant women will participate in prenatal yoga regularly to reduce anxiety, and that health workers can increase their promotion and support in its implementation
